Frank Oglesby

Frank lives in the Massachusetts town of East Longmeadow. He has three decades of on screen acting and voice over experience and is a member of both the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Screen Actors Guild.  Frank was employed by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) for 31 years and held senior management positions in the human resources, civil rights, operations and paratransit departments and retired Aug 1, 2016 from the company. Frank owns Frank Oglesby Jr. Voiceover Communications LLC and is an independent contractor with WGBH Radio FM 89.7, Boston’s Local NPR affiliate, the MBTA and other clients. He’s acted in major motion pictures, television and voiced and acted in corporate/industrial projects, interactive education and training videos, as well as political campaign ads for Boston radio.  Frank has voiced numerous professional radio spots, public service announcements, narrated funding videos, promotions and various messages for clients.  Frank is heard by millions of people daily in New England via his public radio announcements and through public transportation and is well known in Boston as the “Voice of the MBTA”.

While interning at the ABC television affiliate in Boston, WCVB Channel 5 Television, viewed at the time as the best TV station in America, he quickly became known among the technicians and the booth announcer as “the kid with the pipes”. Soon after, he bested newsmen and other voice professionals in Boston for the job of narrator for the first Paul Newman's Hole in The Wall Gang camp funding film, the American Lung Association’s Camp Chestnut funding video, as well as other public service announcements.

Frank serves as the official voice of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials national conferences and he has served as a wedding officiant based on the warmth and sensitivity of his vocal interpretation. Frank’s been the subject of various news articles and interviews in Boston area periodicals, radio stations and on television. Attached below are various sound clips, print and video interviews about Frank’s voice-over accomplishments including an interview by WCVB television Traffic Reporter Dorothy Krysiuk. Of particular interest is Frank’s recording of the farewell Television broadcast message on behalf of the MBTA for Dorothy.  Channel 5 broadcasted the audio during the morning news as part of their special goodbye to Dorothy on her final day of work at the station.
